Tax Law Marketing

The Role of Social Media Influencers in Tax Law Marketing

Any good tax law marketing strategy should include social media as an important tool to promote the law practice in the local area. However, many tax attorneys are unaware of the potential role that social media can play in furthering their professional goals. Social networking can be used successfully to identify and reach out to key influencers.

Social media marketing for lawyers is not just about pushing for new clients directly and hoping to increase client base from the participants within the social network. It is more about building a strong online reputation, getting involved with key influencers, and improving the professional and business prospects of the tax law practice over a period of time.

Social media influencers for a tax lawyer would include top tax and bankruptcy attorney association members, heads of organizations, local business and social leaders, prominent leaders in the legal profession, and respected journalists and media persons. Online engagement with these key influencers would bring more authority and relevancy to the tax lawyer marketing campaign.

A Nielson Research report says that 92 percent of consumers across the world rely more on recommendations from friends and family than on any form of advertising. This is a clear indicator of how potential clients for a tax lawyer can be influenced by endorsements from respected individuals in the society rather than paid promotions. Influencers on social media can also be people who have a large number of ‘fans’ or ‘followers’ and have consistently shared the lawyer’s social media content online.

Once all such influencers have been identified or targeted, it makes sense to encourage and nurture these potential assets. Meaningful engagement and participation on the social networks, blogs, forums and websites of these influencers can be a good way to develop more personalized relationships. More privileged information, content and advance updates or news can be shared with these influencers to create their interest in a relationship.
